BIG HEART BIG PUSH!
The response to the campaign to make CFC “debt-free” has been overwhelming.
When it was announced that the community was left saddled with total loans
amounting to almost P20 million, and an appeal for help was made, no one
anticipated the enormity of the response. The total indebtedness was broken down
into P10.4 million in bank loans and P9.2 million in bridge financing from some
members. The campaign to rid CFC of its debts, called One Time, Big Time, was
officially launched on December 11, 2007 and had an impossible target – to raise
the needed funds within 10 days.
Within a few hours, Metro Manila and the provinces responded with urgency.
Within days, we witnessed the outpouring of generosity from all CFC communities
over the world.
The rest is history. By December 31, total donations to OTBT reached almost P8M
and, day-after-day since the New Year, more generous hearts continue to come to
our Home Office to show support.
By the time we had our Leaders’ Conference at the Araneta Coliseum on January
12, OTBT had collected over P10M. By January 25, we had received a total of
P12 million and USS8, 422 in cash donations and waived bridge fund loans.
As of February 15, we are happy to report that we are very, very close to being
debt-free! Our loans from the banks have shrunk from P10.4 million to only
P3.150M. Our bridge fund obligation, which was P9.2M in October, is now down
to P2.458M.
We are almost there, brothers and sisters! God is good, indeed!
And so we dare to dream. We dare to look beyond the debts and to dream of a
time when CFC will not only be debt-free, CFC will also have its own home! We
remember that February 20, 2007 started our journey towards change and
reforms, and so, in the rekindled spirit of daring and courage and of absolute
dependence in God’s marvelous ways, we now say that February 20, 2008 will
usher in a new era in CFC. We dare to declare that by Pentecost Sunday this year,
we shall indeed be debt-free!
We declare that Pentecost Sunday is indeed the appointed time, the time of our
deliverance from debt. (2 Corinthians 6:1-2: Working together, then, we appeal to
you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For he says: "In an acceptable time I
heard you, and on the day of salvation I helped you." Behold, now is a very
acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
We declare that we can indeed do this. It can be done because God has showed
us the way. He has led us to ONE HEART BIG PUSH!
February is the month of hearts. This is the month of miracles. This is the month
when we will indeed prove to ourselves, and to the world, that all it takes is ONE
BIG PUSH and we can reach our goal.
Our goal – A DEBT-FREE CFC! A HOME THAT CFC CAN CALL ITS OWN!
Our means – Hearts ready to understand. Hands ready to give.
BIG HEART! BIG PUSH!
